Based on a children's book by James Bond author Ian Fleming and with a screenplay partly written by Roald Dahl, it's no mystery that dark elements churn through this classic children's film.
IT'S A VERY MERRY MUPPET CHRISTMAS MOVIE (2002) - The popular television puppets offer a Christmas film about putting on a holiday show in order to pay off a wrongly accelerated debt and keep the Muppet Theatre open.
PRANCER (1989) - A motherless young girl (Rebecca Harrell) living with her father (Sam Elliott) on a failing farm finds herself inspired by her belief in Santa Claus and his flying reindeer. When she finds a real injured reindeer, she secretly nurses it in the barn, believing it is the actual Prancer, until her father discovers the animal and opts to sell it to the butcher.
Kikaida - Vol. 9 (DVD)
DARK is a sinister organization that launches a wave of audacious attacks in an attempt to gain world domination. Commanded by the evil Professor Gill, masked robots and fearsome Destructoid monsters terrorize innocent victims and wreak havoc throughout Japan. To counteract this menace, Gill's nemesis Dr. Komyoji creates Jiro, a guitar-strumming warrior with the ability to transform into a mighty red-and-blue android known as Kikaida. Vulnerable to Professor Gill's shrill flute wooing him to the DARK side, the heroic Jiro battles the robotic hordes while protecting Komyoji's children Mitsuko and Masaru. The revolutionary Japanese live-action series KIKAIDA made its television debut in 1972 and soon won the hearts of kids and sci-fi fans everywhere--in Hawaii, where it was shown on TV with English subtitles, the show became a cult phenomenon. This ninth volume features episodes 41-45.
